If you're an experienced Synon / CA 2E Analyst/Programmer with strong AS400/iSeries experience and are looking for a new contract opportunity, we'd love to hear from you. ## Description * The first three weeks will be based on-site in Epsom, Surrey, to support onboarding, knowledge transfer and integration with the team. * Following this initial period, the role will move to a highly flexible hybrid arrangement, which is currently one day per month on-site in Epsom, specifically on a Tuesday. Additional attendance may occasionally be required to support business needs. * The role will also involve supporting a shift pattern of 7:00am-3:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm, with a combination of both expected. Occasional weekend support may also be required and will be paid at the normal rate, with time off in lieu., We are looking for an experienced Synon Analyst/Programmer to join a small team supporting a major AS400 modernisation programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Analyst/Programmer with strong CA 2E (formerly Synon/2) and iSeries/OS400 experience to provide technical consultancy and development support across a range of defined projects and milestones. The successful contractor will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing existing AS400 applications, while supporting the transition towards modernised systems and applications., * Identify and implement bug fixes within existing AS400 applications. * Design and develop software solutions based on business requirements and user feedback. * Develop integration functions between AS400 and external applications as part of the modernisation programme. * Provide production monitoring and technical support, resolving issues identified through automated monitoring or reported by system users. * Work collaboratively with team members across the full development lifecycle, including design, coding, code reviews and testing. * Participate in key team meetings, delivery planning and reporting activities. * Create and maintain Jira tickets, ensuring progress is accurately recorded. * Carry out code reviews to maintain high standards of development quality. * Undertake root-cause analysis and provide guidance and support to team members in resolving technical issues. * Maintain accurate and relevant technical documentation. * Provide cover and support for other team members when required, particularly during periods of annual leave or absence. ## Related Videos - [Building with IBM Bob](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100275-building-with-ibm-bob) - [Are Code Reviews Worth It?
