Our Hardware Platform team plays a pivotal role in defining the next generation of scalable compute platforms for IoT edge applications. We transform business needs and market trends into forward-looking product architectures that drive innovation and enable rapid deployment across a broad range of applications. What does the Platform & Product Management team do? Platform & Product Management is responsible for translating customer and market needs into well-defined product requirements and executable product development programs. The team leads product definition through planning by developing market and product requirements, business cases, product architecture inputs, technical requirements, risk assessments, and cross-functional execution plans. Working closely with cross-functional teams, Platform and Product Management ensures future products are technically sound, commercially viable, and positioned for successful execution. New Product Introductions require significant technical analysis before development begins. Platform Systems Engineers serve as the technical bridge between customers, product management, and engineering. They evaluate customer use cases, analyze system architectures, identify technical risks, assess solution alternatives, and translate ambiguous market opportunities into clear, actionable product definitions. Responsibilities * Work with business segment managers, customers, Product Management, and field teams to understand emerging market trends, customer requirements, and future product opportunities. * Translate customer use cases into clear product, system, and architectural requirements that guide new product development. * Drive and conduct technical feasibility studies for new product concepts and identify technical risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies early in the planning process. * Lead cross-functional technical investigations involving technical and non-technical audience. * Build alignment across diverse technical teams by communicating complex findings and driving decisions. * Contribute to product requirement documents, architecture proposals, competitive analyses, and supporting technical collateral for executive and engineering reviews. * Collaborate closely with R&D throughout product planning to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. * Present technical recommendations and product direction to internal leadership as well as strategic customers. ## Related Videos - [Unleashing the Full Potential of the Arm Architecture – Write Once, Deploy Anywhere](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/940-unleashing-the-full-potential-of-the-arm-architecture-write-once-deploy-anywhere) - [Android beyond mobile: Cars, TVs, and Wearables](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/553-android-beyond-mobile-cars-tvs-and-wearables) - [Introduction to Azure Machine Learning](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/368-introduction-to-azure-machine-learning) - [More efficient software for more efficient microchips](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1164-more-efficient-software-for-more-efficient-microchips) - [Reality and Beyond: Coding a Drone Using {Unity 3D .NET} and ChatGPT AI!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/702-reality-and-beyond-coding-a-drone-using-unity-3d-net-and-chatgpt-ai) - [What non-automotive Machine Learning projects can learn from automotive Machine Learning projects](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/397-what-non-automotive-machine-learning-projects-can-learn-from-automotive-machine-learning-projects) ## Related Articles - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [What is Software Engineering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/289-what-is-software-engineering) - [What Jobs Can You Get with a Software Engineering Degree?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/398-what-jobs-can-you-get-with-a-software-engineering-degree) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers)
