* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
 * 4+ years database engineering experience.
 * Expertise with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, T-SQL, PowerShell, Azure CLI.
 * Experience with Azure PaaS/IaaS, performance tuning, backup, security, and DevOps.
 * U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

 * Azure Database Administrator certification.
 * Department of Commerce or NTIA experience.
 * Hybrid or multi-cloud database experience.

## Description

Designs, implements, secures, optimizes, and supports Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, and hybrid database environments while collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams.

Core Responsibilities

 * Design and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, and Cosmos DB.
 * Optimize database performance, indexing, and storage.
 * Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
 * Implement security, auditing, and compliance controls.
 * Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
 * Support CI/CD and DevOps automation.
 * Troubleshoot database issues and mentor junior staff.
