You'll ideally have: * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline. * 5+ years' commercial experience in Backend Engineering, Data Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering. * Expert-level Python development skills. * Commercial experience with Machine Learning, NLP or AI platforms. * Experience productionising machine learning models at scale. * Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django. * Experience working with SQL and relational databases, including performance optimisation. * Experience designing cloud-native solutions within AWS and/or Azure. * Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures. * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments. * Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * A passion for mentoring and developing other engineers. This team is responsible for developing innovative AI, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions that power intelligent products used by customers around the world. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment, you'll play a key role in designing scalable AI platforms, productionising machine learning models and building cloud-native services that deliver real business value. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while mentoring others and influencing engineering best practices. The Role Reporting to the AI Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of the architecture, design and delivery of complex AI services and data pipelines. Working closely with Data Scientists and Software Engineers, you'll help transform research and machine learning models into reliable, scalable production systems.
