This position functions as a shared departmental resource, collaborating with investigators across divisions to strengthen study design, analytic rigor, grant competitiveness, and scholarly dissemination. This role is within the Department of Surgery and supports multiple divisions. The position provides opportunities for scholarly collaboration, co-authorship, and professional development within an academic medical center. The Bioinformatics Analyst II contributes to scholary output and strengthens the biostatistics aspects of research to improve competitiveness of grants and manuscripts. They may participate in additional professional development activities to support their growth., * Advanced BIOSTATISTICS CONSULTING PRE-AWARD Provide biostatistical consultation prior to grant submissions for study design, analysis, and interpretation. * Complex Statistical ANALYSIS FOR GRANTS AND MANUSCRIPTS Conduct statistical analyses using appropriate and reproducible methods. Advise on data structure, data quality, missing data, and analytic assumptions * GRANT DEVELOPMENT and Strategic research SUPPORT Support grant development (e.g., NIH, society, foundation, industry), including power/sample size calculations and statistical methods sections * MANUSCRIPT DEVELOPMENT AND REPORTING Contribute to manuscripts, including statistical methods, results, tables, and figures; participate as a co-author when appropriate. Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and reporting standards. * COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION: Work closely with research teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions. Present technical progress and challenges clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. * TRAINING AND ADMINSTRATIVE DUTIES Provide statistical guidance to trainees and faculty.
