Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot

Experience with Kafka

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform

Strong database experience across SQL, NoSQL, and RDBMS technologies

Experience with technologies such as Cassandra and Solr

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms

Experience developing scalable APIs and cloud-native services

Strong system design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred

## Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Bentonville, AR. This role will focus on designing and developing highly scalable, cloud-native backend services within a large-scale distributed environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, cloud technologies, databases, and containerized applications, along with strong system design, coding, and debugging skills.

This is a W2 contract-to-hire opportunity. C2C arrangements are not available. Candidates outside of Bentonville may be considered; however, they must be relocated and available to work in Bentonville beginning Day 1., * Design and develop highly scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot

 * Build and enhance cloud-native microservices in large-scale distributed environments
 * Participate in system design, architecture, coding, testing, debugging, and production support
 * Develop new services, systems, and product functionality
 * Build and support Kafka-based pipelines and event-driven integrations
 * Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases
 * Collaborate with engineering, product, data, and data science teams
 * Support applications and services that integrate with machine learning and data platforms
 * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement scalable long-term solutions
 * Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
 * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and product requirements into technical solutions
 * Ensure applications are reliable, scalable, maintainable, and delivered on time
