(system-side development - not only applications development), Good handle on HLASM, CLIST, JCL. * Strong experience working with JES2. Experience with IBM Mainframe environment (TSO/ISPF, JCL, Db2, VSAM etc.). * Dump reading analysis is critical using IPCS, XDC etc. * Experience in developing working code utilizing low-level operating system functions to accomplish a desired task. * Experience creating functional designs/specifications from business requirements. * In-depth experience in troubleshooting complex problems at application and systems levels. * Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as a part of a team. Nice to have skills, which can make you stand apart in the crowd you can develop the following skills while in BMC: * Adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), leveraging tools such as Cursor.ai to improve productivity, code quality, design efficiency, and development velocity. * Utilize Cursor.ai to accelerate software design, code generation, unit test creation, debugging, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation activities. * Knowledge of Source code management tools like BMC Code pipeline, GitHub * IBM z/OSMF workflows * SMP/e knowledge is a plus. * DUMP Reading * Knowledge of Mainframe Db2 & z/OS System Administration and Mainframe Db2 Product support knowledge ## Description In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing BMC's core mainframe Db2 product, BMC AMI Copy for Db2 /BMC AMI Recover for Db2. These are mature, mission-critical solutions deeply embedded in customers' z/OS and Db2 environments. You will be a Lead Developer across projects and teams, acting as a subject matter expert on C, C++, Assembler, JES2, z/OS internals, Db2 internals, Assembler Macros, ISPF Panels, CLIST and XML, JCL - including mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members., * Lead and successfully design, develop, test, maintain and deliver Db2 Products, product lines and solutions using C, C++, HLASM etc. * Design, Code and fix bugs of very complex Db2 Product solutions. * Produce a range of high-quality design options, reflecting a wide breadth of technical knowledge and insight.
