Right now, the infrastructure that powers everything - Kubernetes clusters, VPCs, compute, storage, shared services - is the single point of failure for every developer-facing capability the platform team builds. You'll be a core contributor to designing, deploying and operating that substrate. You'll write production-quality Java code, own implementation of infrastructure abstractions, operate mission-critical systems, and work alongside senior engineers to continuously improve how the platform scales. This is solid mid-level infrastructure engineering work: enough ownership to move the needle, enough guidance to keep growing., * Implement infrastructure abstractions that service teams use to express their requirements: translating high-level requests into IaC parameters and production-grade deployments based on designs and guidance from senior engineers. * Deploy and operate platform-layer infrastructure: VPCs, compute pools, storage, Kubernetes clusters and the networking that connects them, using IaC modules provided by Cloud Operations. * Own the operation and maintenance of managed pub/sub messaging systems (e.g. Kafka) that service teams depend on. * Consume Cloud Operations' IaC modules effectively and feed back operational lessons and enhancement requests. * Write production-quality Java code that implements infrastructure abstractions, with security and best practices baked in by design. * Contribute to the team's infrastructure standards and practices: participate in code reviews, help improve operational runbooks, and share lessons learned. ## Related Videos - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) - [Are Code Reviews Worth It?
