CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Meet DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II) or must meet the minimum DoD 8140 DCWF equivalent requirements (Intermediate). Currently the position requires CompTIA Security+, but might include additional certifications at a later time., * Must be able to successfully meet all training required of DoD computing environments for all supported systems within 6 months of hire. * Experience as a federation manager of High-Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) training federations * Able to work independently and act as lead when section team lead is unavailable. * Must be able to work on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington * Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10-15% of the time). * Must be a disciplined worker capable of meeting short suspenses. * Must have excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills. * Proficient in the following applications: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and VISIO. * Must be able to support shift work that occurs outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * 5+ years' experience in planning simulation exercise architectures, supervising implementation of communication systems, and integration of Army Mission Command Systems in support of distributed exercises. * Certification in predominant operating systems, including: CompTIA Linux+, Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator or Redhat Certified Systems Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate certification. * Experience with VMWare installation, configuration, and maintenance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as standing for extended periods. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds to setup, relocate, and store equipment. * Work in both in buildings and outdoor environments. * Outdoor environments may involve inclement weather conditions, carrying equipment over uneven terrain, and maneuvering equipment in tight spaces. ## Description * Provide information system analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications to support MTC exercises and events. * Work independently in systems engineering and on-site integration/operation within an Army Mission Command environment for exercises and events at the MTC. * Responsibilities include, but not limited to, installing software; information system end to end operational testing; installing, configuring interface to systems; providing subject matter expertise to modify and enhance Army Mission Command Systems. * Provide design and analysis skills to facilitate the integration of Army Mission Command systems. * Assist in translating mission requirements and information into solutions using simulation models/equipment; planning, scripting. * Install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot both Windows based and RHEL workstations and server class systems in all MTC Facilities. * Integrate Windows and Linux computer systems (servers and workstations). * Assist Information Assurance managers with maintaining Risk Management Framework compliance. * Provide support to Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming and Low Overhead exercises and events. * Provide input and support to the creation of training related products, along with AAR activities. * Support equipment/facility setup and recovery operations at all MTC facilities in support of MTC events and exercises. * Shall be proficient with current and future versions of simulation operating software and hardware fielded to the Mission Training Complex. * Other duties as assigned.
