Work across Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, security and compliance, and data platform tooling to keep systems reliable, observable, and easy for product teams to build on. This role sits at the intersection of SRE practices and platform engineering - Spend as much time improving reliability and incident response as you will writing Terraform and hardening IAM policies. Building a platform from AWS to GCP that lets engineering teams move fast without sacrificing security or reliability. Looking for real ownership over how our GCP infrastructure evolves, direct input into our SRE practices, and the chance to work with a team that values clear documentation and sustainable on-call practices. Responsibilities: * Design, build, and maintain infrastructure on GCP using Terraform, ensuring environments are reproducible, version-controlled, and easy to audit. * Operate and improve GKE clusters, including workload scheduling, autoscaling, networking, and container security hardening. * Apply SRE principles to production systems: define and track SLOs/SLIs, build dashboards and alerting, participate in on-call rotation, and lead or contribute to incident response and postmortems. * Implement and maintain IAM policies, service account permissions, and security controls aligned with least-privilege principles and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar depending on industry). * Support and extend our data platform infrastructure, including BigQuery datasets, Dataflow pipelines, and related access controls and cost governance. * Improve observability across the platform using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana. * Partner with software engineering teams to provide self-service infrastructure patterns, reusable Terraform modules, and clear platform documentation. * Participate in capacity planning, cost optimization, and disaster recovery planning for GCP workloads. ## Related Videos - [My journey into DevOps world - How it all started!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/545-my-journey-into-devops-world-how-it-all-started) - [From DevOps to Scaled DevOps: How We’re Rebuilding Continuous Delivery as a Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100018-from-devops-to-scaled-devops-how-we-re-rebuilding-continuous-delivery-as-a-platform) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [5 steps for running a Kubernetes environment at scale](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/88-5-steps-for-running-a-kubernetes-environment-at-scale) - [Platform Engineering vs. DevOps Why not both?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/885-platform-engineering-vs-devops-why-not-both) - [#90DaysOfDevOps - The DevOps Learning Journey](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/548-90daysofdevops-the-devops-learning-journey) ## Related Articles - [Got AI ideas but no money?
