This role is not advisory-only. The Practice Architect Level 2 is expected to be deeply hands-on, capable of mentoring offshore teams, building reference implementations, and rapidly taking solutions from concept to market. You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, reliability engineering, and emerging agentic architectures, enabling global delivery teams to execute at speed while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability and operational maturity. Key Responsibilities Cloud Platform Architecture (Hands-on Ownership) *Own the end-to-end technical architecture and implementation of cloud platforms on AWS and GCP. *Design and implement production-grade reference architectures for: oMulti-account (AWS) and multi-project (GCP) environments oKubernetes platforms (EKS, GKE) oHybrid and multi-cloud enterprise deployments *Remain hands-on with architecture validation, PoCs, and complex customer implementations. Reliability Engineering & SRE Excellence *Lead platform design using SRE-first principles, including: oSLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability trade-off decisions oIncident response models, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement loops *Ensure platforms are designed for: oHigh availability, resilience Engineering concepts oOperational simplicity and supportability by global teams *Partner with SRE and operations teams to define operational readiness standards, runbooks, and escalation models. Agentic Platform Concepts & Solution Enablement *Bring a strong conceptual and architectural understanding of agentic systems, including: oAgent-based workflows and orchestration models oAutonomous and semi-autonomous decision-making patterns oHuman-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and observability *Guide teams on how agentic concepts integrate with: oCloud platforms and Kubernetes oReliability engineering and operational controls oEnterprise security and governance requirements *Mentor offshore teams to develop agent-enabled platform capabilities and accelerate solution development and go-to-market timelines. *Translate emerging agentic patterns into practical, enterprise-ready architectures rather than experimental prototypes. Implementation depth is a strong plus, but architectural mastery and the ability to guide teams from concept to production is mandatory. Platform Engineering & Automation *Stay hands-on with: oInfrastructure-as-Code using Terraform oKubernetes lifecycle management (provisioning, upgrades, scaling) oCI/CD and GitOps-based platform delivery (Helm, pipelines, automation) *Guide the development of reusable platform components, accelerators, and templates to improve delivery speed and consistency. *Review and approve designs for shared platform services (networking, identity, security, ingress, secrets). Global Delivery Leadership & Mentorship *Lead and mentor offshore and distributed global teams, ensuring: oArchitectural consistency oHigh engineering standards oClear ownership and accountability *Actively participate in code, design, and architecture reviews. *Bridge gaps between architecture, delivery, and operations, ensuring solutions are executable in real-world client environments. Practice Growth & Speed to Market *Drive solution incubation, from idea reference architecture implementation market-ready offering. *Enable faster client onboarding through standardized patterns and pre-built assets. *Support pre-sales, solutioning, and technical validation when required, without losing hands-on depth. *Balance innovation with stability, ensuring platforms can scale operationally across multiple clients., Role Differentiation - Practice Architect Level 2 This role explicitly requires: *Good Communication Skills are Mandatory. Client Facing role. *Hands-on technical execution (not advisory-only) *Mentoring offshore/global teams *Agentic platform architectural understanding *Speed-to-market solution ownership *SRE-driven platform mindset *Skills* Cloud, architecture *Top Skills Details* Cloud ## Related Videos - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) - [Debugging in the Dark](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1658-debugging-in-the-dark) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Shipping Faster with Less: Render on Cloud Hosting, AI Workloads, and the Future of DevOps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1894-shipping-faster-with-less-render-on-cloud-hosting-ai-workloads-and-the-future-of-devops) - [Retooling and refactoring - an investment in people.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/371-retooling-and-refactoring-an-investment-in-people) - [Implementing Feature Environments with AWS and Terraform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/531-implementing-feature-environments-with-aws-and-terraform) ## Related Articles - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Best US AI Conferences for CTOs in 2026: Build vs. Buy, Vendor Evaluation, and Peer Intelligence](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/736-best-us-ai-conferences-for-ctos-in-2026-build-vs-buy-vendor-evaluation-and-peer-intelligence) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
