We want designers who are self-motivated, don't need external pushing to get started, and can manage different stakeholders and situations on their own. For senior roles, we're also looking for people who can lead - take ownership of projects, set the bar for the team, and eventually manage people. What are they expected to unblock? Quality - We're doing good work. We want to do great work. Work that gets featured, that moves the needle for clients, that sets a new internal benchmark. We need people who can step in, explore more, and push the craft. Bandwidth - The team is stretched. More designers means faster delivery and more time to explore and experiment - both of which directly improve quality. Collaboration - Great UI design isn't built alone. These designers will work closely with clients, AMs, PMs, the copy team, the brand/creative team, illustrators, motion designers, and devs. A major part of the day-to-day is communication and collaboration across all of these. We're looking for people who actively want to work this way - not someone who works in silos and hands off at the end. What Exactly Are We Looking For? Seniority & Years of Experience * UI Designer: 2-4 years * Senior UI Designer: 5-8 years. If someone is slightly more junior but has exceptional work and has managed people or projects, we're open to that conversation. Non-Negotiable * Exceptional visual taste - this is the most important filter. * Has worked on websites or landing pages - we're not looking for people who've never touched a web canvas * Minimum 2 years of experience (UI Designer) * Good grasp on the English language - they'll communicate directly with clients and our global team Nice to Have * Agency or freelance experience * Portfolio relevance - B2B, SaaS, AI, FinTech work * Has managed a team or had direct reportees (more important for Senior) ## Description What differentiates this from a generic UI Designer role? This isn't a role where you ship screens and move on. The UI Designer here is expected to conceptualise - storyboards, illustrations, animation direction, visual assets - not necessarily execute all of it, but think through and direct it. They're also deeply embedded in the client relationship and collaborate across every team. If someone is used to heads-down, solo execution, this will feel very different ## Related Videos - [Learn Enough Design to Be Dangerous](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/577-learn-enough-design-to-be-dangerous) - [Live Coding an Augmented Reality Game with WebXR](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/199-live-coding-an-augmented-reality-game-with-webxr) - [Edit Your Future: Queerverse Radical AI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/909-edit-your-future-queerverse-radical-ai) - [Beyond the Hype: Building Trustworthy and Reliable LLM Applications with Guardrails](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1594-beyond-the-hype-building-trustworthy-and-reliable-llm-applications-with-guardrails) - [UX is a fullstack job!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1020-ux-is-a-fullstack-job) - [Confuse, Obfuscate, Disrupt: Using Adversarial Techniques for Better AI and True Anonymity](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1456-confuse-obfuscate-disrupt-using-adversarial-techniques-for-better-ai-and-true-anonymity) ## Related Articles - [The future is here: How artificial intelligence is influencing UX design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/65-the-future-is-here-how-artificial-intelligence-is-influencing-ux-design) - [16 Best Free React UI Libraries in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/148-16-best-free-react-ui-libraries-in-2025) - [Web Developer Portfolio Inspiration and Examples - March 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/561-web-developer-portfolio-inspiration-and-examples-march-2025) - [How Developers Can Focus on Maintaining Satisfaction With Accessibility](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/109-how-developers-can-focus-on-maintaining-satisfaction-with-accessibility) - [Top 5 Web Design Trends for 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/155-top-5-web-design-trends-for-2023) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift)
