Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs. Ability to lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Familiarity with application security principles and secure development practices. Familiarity with Git version control. Familiarity with OAuth ## Description Plan and execute the migration from old monolithic code to modern, fast, and scalable Java-based microservices without breaking live systems. Experience migrating Ruby services to Java is preferred but NOT required Lead API design and development including specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols - REST, GraphQL. Lead data strategy and migration of shared databases into separate data layers for individual services while keeping data accurate. Find data or system bottlenecks early and fix them before deployment. Deploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes in AWS (deployment manifests/Helm familiarity, scaling, rollouts, resource requests/limits). Tune and optimize databases (query performance, indexing strategy, connection pooling, migration strategy) and implement caching (cache-aside/write-through patterns, TTL strategy, invalidation). Maintain deep involvement in the codebase, writing production-grade code for core services Ensure seamless integration of APIs with internal and external systems, applications, and third-party services. Promote adoption of AI in API development lifecycle (e,g, ,usage of GitHub Copilot for coding) Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and other security best practices to protect data and services.
