Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Principal Engineer - Data Centres - **Company:** Aldwych Consulting - **Location:** Birmingham, UK - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Temporary contract - **Skills:** Autodesk Revit, Data Centers - **Published:** August 20, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.totaljobs.com/job/principal-engineer/aldwych-consulting-ltd-job107875159 ## About the Role This position is suited to an experienced electrical engineer who can operate at a senior technical level while also influencing project strategy, developing engineering teams and building strong relationships with clients and delivery partners., You'll be an established electrical engineering professional with significant experience delivering complex building services or mission-critical projects., * A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Extensive experience in electrical building services design and project delivery. * Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution and critical power systems. * Proven experience working on complex, highly resilient or mission-critical infrastructure. * Detailed knowledge of relevant UK regulations, standards and industry guidance, including BS 7671 and EN 50600. * Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating complex project interfaces. * Strong understanding of LV systems and a good level of technical knowledge across HV/MV infrastructure. * Experience with BIM-led project delivery and Revit. * Familiarity with electrical design and analysis software such as EOM, ETAP or equivalent platforms. * Excellent communication skills and the confidence to provide technical advice to clients and project stakeholders. You'll work on projects where electrical resilience, capacity and reliability are fundamental to their success, while helping clients navigate the challenges created by rapidly increasing power demands and evolving technology. Alongside project delivery, you'll have the opportunity to shape technical standards, develop engineers and influence how the wider team approaches complex electrical engineering challenges.
