## About the Role

 * Minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
 * Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar technical leadership or mentoring role
 * Proficiency in C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environments
 * Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems (system administration, kernel knowledge, or application development)
 * Proficiency in Python programming with experience in real-world projects
 * Strong programming and debugging skills across multiple languages
 * Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)
 * Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
 * Strong communication and teamwork skills
 * Excellent organizational and time management skills
 * Willingness to learn and grow in a technical leadership role, * Advanced degree (Master's) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
 * Relevant certifications or training (e.g., Agile/Scrum Master, cloud certifications)
 * Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
 * Experience with software architecture and design patterns
 * Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding principles
 * Experience with embedded systems or systems programming

Security Clearance

## Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (Leadership) to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical mentorship while contributing to the execution of our software engineering strategy., * Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and hands-on support

 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects on time and within scope
 * Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning
 * Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments
 * Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals and deadlines
 * Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution
 * Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise
 * Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
 * Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
 * Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
