Extensive experience in Java application development and enterprise software development. Strong knowledge of Java, object-oriented programming, and commonly used Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot. Experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, and system integrations. Experience working with relational databases, SQL, and data access technologies. Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, version control, testing, debugging, and deployment processes. Strong understanding of application security, performance optimization, scalability, and software development best practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide technical guidance within multidisciplinary project teams. Experience working in government, public-sector, or large enterprise technology environments is preferred. ## Description The Principal Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable Java-based applications that support complex business and client requirements. This role works closely with business analysts, architects, project managers, developers, and other technical professionals to translate requirements into effective software solutions and support applications throughout the development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications based on business and system requirements. Develop clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable Java code using established development standards and best practices. Participate in application design, technical analysis, development, integration, testing, deployment, and production support activities. Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, project managers, developers, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, backend services, and system integrations. Work with databases and data access technologies to design queries, manage application data, and support application functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application defects, performance issues, and system integration problems. Review code and technical deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, security, and compliance with development standards. Support application modernization, system integration, cloud adoption, and migration initiatives when required. Identify technical risks, dependencies, and development challenges and recommend appropriate solutions. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, design reviews, testing, deployment planning, and production readiness activities. Implement secure coding practices and ensure applications meet requirements for performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Create and maintain technical documentation, including application designs, code documentation, deployment information, and development procedures. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers.
