The postholder will provide first and second-line technical support, maintain IT equipment and systems, and contribute to projects that enhance teaching, learning and administrative efficiency. This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, technical competence and a commitment to safeguarding and data security. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Support * Provide first-line and second-line support for hardware, software and network-related issues. * Respond to support requests in accordance with agreed service levels. * Diagnose and resolve technical faults or escalate complex issues where necessary. * Support users with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint. * Assist staff and students with access to school systems, user accounts and passwords. * Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions. Classroom and Educational Technology * Support classroom technology including interactive displays, projectors, printers and audio-visual equipment. * Assist teaching staff in the effective use of educational technology. * Ensure teaching spaces remain fully operational and equipped for learning. * Support online learning platforms and digital assessment systems as required. Infrastructure and Systems * Assist in maintaining the school's network infrastructure, servers, wireless networks and internet connectivity. * Support routine system maintenance, updates and security patching. * Help monitor system performance and identify issues before they affect users. * Assist with backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures. Device Management * Prepare, deploy and maintain staff and student laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile devices. * Manage inventory and asset registers. * Organise repairs, replacements and warranty claims. * Support onboarding and offboarding processes for staff and students. Cyber Security and Data Protection * Follow all school policies relating to data protection, cyber security and acceptable use. * Support implementation of cyber security controls and awareness initiatives. * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times. * Report any suspected security incidents promptly. Projects and Continuous Improvement * Assist with IT projects including software deployments, hardware refresh programmes and infrastructure improvements. * Contribute ideas to improve service delivery and user experience. * Create and maintain technical documentation, guides and procedures. * Participate in training and continuous professional development activities. Safeguarding * Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people. * Comply with all safeguarding, child protection and KCSIE requirements. * Report safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures. * Ensure the safe use of technology by students and staff.
