Preferred Skills: * Local to Ashburn, VA and available to work onsite. * Design Thinking certification (e.g., IDEO, Stanford, MIT, Cornell, or similar programs). * Experience designing for accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance. * Background in information architecture and user flow optimization. * Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular. * Advanced understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies. * Experience developing enterprise-level design systems and UX standards. * Ability to educate and mentor teams on user-centered design principles and best practices. * Experience applying advanced UX principles to drive innovation and improve user experience outcomes. This role involves designing intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for both legacy and modernized systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a strong balance of creative design expertise, technical awareness, and leadership ability to deliver high-quality, accessible, and scalable solutions aligned with mission objectives. This full-time position will be hybrid to Ashburn, VA 1 day/week.
