The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for developing next-generation hardware solutions that combine high-speed networking, computing, and FPGA technologies. This position will oversee the complete hardware development lifecycle, from system architecture and design through validation, production release, and sustaining engineering. The ideal candidate will be both a strong technical hardware engineer and an experienced people leader with a background in high-speed networking equipment, embedded computing platforms, PCB design, signal integrity, EMC, and complex hardware product development. Key Responsibilities Hardware Engineering Leadership Lead all phases of hardware development from system architecture through production release. Establish technical direction and contribute to the development of next-generation hardware platforms. Lead a multidisciplinary team of hardware, mechanical, and ECAD engineers. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, coaching, and career development to engineering team members. Establish engineering priorities, schedules, development plans, and technical objectives. Drive design quality, product reliability, and successful product launches. Support future product generations and technology roadmaps. Hardware Design & Development Lead the design and development of complex hardware platforms for high-speed networking and computing applications. Participate in system architecture, hardware design reviews, prototyping, validation, and product qualification. Oversee board-level design and development activities. Apply knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and PCB design practices. Review PCB stackups, materials, and board construction for high-speed applications. Support hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and production readiness. Ensure hardware designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance requirements. High-Speed Networking & Embedded Platforms Lead development of hardware platforms incorporating high-speed networking, advanced processors, embedded computing, and FPGA resources. Support architecture and design decisions involving high-performance processors and embedded platforms. Evaluate hardware performance and identify opportunities for design improvements. Work with engineering teams to resolve complex hardware issues. Contribute to the technical direction of future networking and computing platforms. Signal Integrity & EMC Apply practical knowledge of high-speed signal integrity concepts and design practices. Review and resolve signal integrity issues affecting hardware performance. Support EMC/EMI design and compliance activities. Investigate and resolve EMC non-compliance issues during development and validation. Collaborate with compliance and test engineering teams to ensure products meet applicable requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Program Management, FPGA/RTL, Software, Mechanical Engineering, ECAD, Compliance, Manufacturing, and other engineering teams. Coordinate hardware development activities across multiple engineering disciplines. Communicate technical risks, schedules, priorities, and development status to stakeholders. Support design reviews and cross-functional problem-solving activities. Assist with external OEM and technology partner relationships as required. Manufacturing & Sustaining Engineering Support transition of new hardware products into manufacturing. Work with manufacturing teams to improve production yields, quality, and reliability. Support sustaining engineering activities for existing products. Identify and implement design changes to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Assist with production issues, engineering changes, and product improvements. Team Management & Development Lead, develop, and motivate a diverse engineering team.
