Strong hands-on experience operating large-scale production data-centre network environments underpinning OpenStack, HPC or AI platforms. Hands-on experience using automation with Ansible/Python/Terraform to deploy and operate large scale networking. Understanding of Git and Infrastructure as Code principles. Practical experience with EVPN, VXLAN and BGP. Strong network troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Good Linux skills. Nice To Have Skills and Experience: Exposure and understanding of OpenStack Neutron, OVN and ML2. Experience using Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry and applying SRE practices including SLOs, error budgets Configuration and understanding of SR-IOV, SmartNICs and DPUs. RoCE/RDMA and high-performance storage networking. Network performance benchmarking. ## Description This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly formed Private Cloud team. We are responsible for the design, deployment and operations of a new greenfield on-prem private cloud based on OpenStack. The Private Cloud Network Fabric Engineer will build, operate and continuously improve the physical network fabric underpinning our Private Cloud platform working in close collaboration with the wider team. The role has a strong operational engineering focus, combining deep expertise in modern data-centre networking with automation, observability and SRE principles to ensure the Private Cloud fabric remains highly available, performant and scalable. Responsibilities: Build and operate the dedicated Private Cloud Leaf-Spine network fabric with a focus on Openstack integration. Configure and operate BGP, EVPN, VXLAN and ECMP-based architectures. Operate Cisco and other data-centre networking platforms supporting the Private Cloud. Manage network hardware and software lifecycle including deployment, upgrades and vendor evaluations. Design and implement network changes through automation using software development principles and best practices using CI/CD workflows and pipelines. Develop observability dashboards to monitor network telemetry, performance and capacity forecasting to ensure a scalable and robust network fabric.
