## About the Role

* Masterdiploma (of vergelijkbaar) in Computer Science, Statistiek, Toegepaste Wiskunde, Kunstmatige Intelligentie of een verwante discipline;
 * Medior: 3+ jaar/ Senior: 5+ jaar ervaring met het leveren van productieklare data-scienceoplossingen in een commerciële of publieke omgeving;
 * Gevorderde vaardigheid in Python, inclusief pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn en minstens één deep learning framework (TensorFlow of PyTorch);
 * Een agnostische mindset. Wij bouwen producten en voeren projecten uit zonder vendor lock-in of "Cloud Only"-mentaliteit. Innovatie staat voorop, dus een combinatie van wetenschappelijke en productgerichte aanpak wordt gestimuleerd;
 * Ervaring met containerisatie en orkestratie (Docker en Kubernetes), plus infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Bicep) op Azure of on-prem;
 * Sterke kennis van MLOps-toolchains, waaronder MLflow, Airflow, Azure ML SDK en geautomatiseerde CI/CD-pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps of GitHub Actions);
 * Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om complexe concepten uit te leggen aan zowel technische als niet-technische doelgroepen;
 * Aantoonbare ervaring met het leiden van projecten, het coördineren van multidisciplinaire teams en direct contact met business stakeholders;
 * Vloeiend in Nederlands én Engels, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk op professioneel niveau;
 * Passie voor continue verbetering, kennisdeling en het vooroplopen in het snel evoluerende data-scienceveld.

## Description

Wij zoeken een hands-on, resultaatgerichte Medior/Senior Data Scientist voor onze Data & AI-practice in Nieuwegein. Jij vertaalt complexe businessvraagstukken naar robuuste, end-to-end data-scienceoplossingen: het ontwerpen, bouwen en operationaliseren van modellen die meetbare waarde leveren in verschillende sectoren. Dit omvat zowel klantprojecten als interne productontwikkeling.

* Data-scienceprojecten uitvoeren van probleemdefinitie tot en met productie-implementatie, nauw samenwerkend met Sopra-collega's en klantenteams in een DevOps-omgeving;
 * Werken aan innovatieve projecten en producten zoals onze simulaties, digital twins of Large Language Models-as-a-service producten (voor LLM's zie onze specifieke LLM-vacature);
 * Modellen operationaliseren met MLOps/DevOps best practices; met o.a. MLflow voor experiment-tracking, Docker/Kubernetes voor containerisatie, en CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions) voor geautomatiseerd testen en releasen;
 * Klanten adviseren over algoritmekeuze, schaalbare feature-engineering pipelines en cloud-native deployment patterns: geoptimaliseerd voor prestaties en kostenefficiëntie;
 * Junior collega's begeleiden door code-reviews te doen, best practices te delen en een cultuur van continu leren te stimuleren;
 * Op de hoogte blijven van de laatste ontwikkelingen in reinforcement learning, causal inference, LLMs, GenAI, AutoML - en deze inzichten vertalen naar nieuwe diensten.
