## About the Role

Join us as a Software Engineer at Barclays, helping to shape and evolve our technology platforms through robust engineering practices and collaborative delivery. We're looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for Java development, test automation, technical leadership, and Agile ways of working., * Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead multi-faceted technical delivery, mentor engineers, conduct effective code reviews, and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 * Agile Delivery: Experience delivering iterative solutions in Agile environments, translating business requirements into scalable technical outcomes while adapting to changing priorities.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

 * Technical - Event-driven architecture / messaging: Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ/event sourcing patterns; can design systems that scale beyond request-response
 * Cloud-native deployment and infrastructure: Docker/Kubernetes, Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline design. Understanding of containerisation trade-offs, deployment strategies.
 * Security-first mindset: Experience implementing authorisation and authentication capabilities, input validation, awareness of data sensitivity and general secure coding practices. Ability to catch security issues in design and code review.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
