Responsibilities * Design the target-state Snowflake architecture and data model for consolidating on-premise and cloud data sources. * Define and enforce governance and security controls: role-based access control, dynamic data masking, row-level security, data lineage, and cataloging aligned to FISMA and NIST SP 800-53. * Lead performance and cost engineering: warehouse right-sizing, clustering, materialized views, and workload isolation. * Set standards and review designs for the multi-source ingestion pipelines (Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, dbt) built by the Data Engineering team. * Partner with the Integration Engineers on the Snowpark in-platform transformation approach that eliminates redundant data movement. * Serve as designated Key Personnel and be available for interview prior to award. * Design MuleSoft ingestion patterns using Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks and staging tables. * Implement Secure Data Sharing, External Functions and REST API enablement for MuleSoft consumption. * Implement secure views, Dynamic Data Masking and Row-Level Security. * Design S3 External Stages and AWS KMS encryption patterns. * Define staging formats including Parquet, JSON and ORC. ## Related Videos - [Parquet, Delta, Iceberg & Ducklake - An introduction for developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100075-parquet-delta-iceberg-ducklake-an-introduction-for-developers) - [Why make use of an integration platform in today's software developments and infrastructure?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/758-why-make-use-of-an-integration-platform-in-today-s-software-developments-and-infrastructure) - [Tips and Tricks for Working with JSON](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1229-tips-and-tricks-for-working-with-json) - [How building an industry DBMS differs from building a research one](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/768-how-building-an-industry-dbms-differs-from-building-a-research-one) - [Tracking vehicles at scale](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1999-tracking-vehicles-at-scale) - [OLAP for AI Applications and why you should care](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100212-olap-for-ai-applications-and-why-you-should-care) ## Related Articles - [Making Data Warehouses Fast: A Developer’s Story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/107-making-data-warehouses-fast-a-developer-s-story) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Top Big Data Technologies That You Need to Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/108-top-big-data-technologies-that-you-need-to-know) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [7 Cloud Computing Trends Coming in 2025 for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/412-7-cloud-computing-trends-coming-in-2025-for-developers)
