This is a great opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who wants to gain hands-on experience with complex, real-world projects while learning from experienced technical teams. In this role, you'll be close to the full project lifecycle - from planning and system design through deployment, validation, and operational handoff. You'll be a strong fit if you enjoy understanding how different technical pieces come together, solving problems hands-on, and contributing to systems that need to perform reliably in the field. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to build their systems engineering knowledge in a collaborative project environment. How you'll make an impact: * Take technical ownership of specific parts of the solution, such as a subsystem, product, or workstream, within the overall project scope. * Support engineering projects from planning through deployment, helping ensure a smooth transition into operations. * Contribute to system design, integration, and testing activities across both internal and third-party systems. * Help define system requirements, performance metrics, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with senior engineers. * Participate in technical reviews, troubleshooting sessions, system validation, and problem-solving activities. * Support the development and delivery of hardware and software solutions tailored to customer projects. * Prepare and maintain key technical documentation, including installation guides, design documents, test documentation, and project deliverables. * Support system integration and testing during FAT, SIT, SAT, and OAT phases. * Work closely with Project Management, Operations, Field Services, Software Developers, and Mobilization teams to keep projects aligned, practical, and executable. * Communicate with internal stakeholders and, when needed, support customer-facing technical discussions or presentations., You'll be successful in this role if you bring curiosity, ownership, and the motivation to keep building your technical understanding over time. We don't expect you to have all the answers from day one - what matters most is your ability to ask, learn, try, and improve. You will thrive in this role if you: * Take initiative to understand how systems work, including how your work connects to the broader solution. * Ask thoughtful questions early when something is unclear. * Learn from feedback, mentorship, and hands-on experience. * Take responsibility for your work and follow through on commitments, with guidance and support. * Communicate clearly about progress, open questions, risks, and when support is needed. * Approach problems in a structured way and develop confidence working through technical complexity. * Stay open to stepping outside your comfort zone to build broader context and capability. ## Related Videos - [Model Based Systems Engineering in an Agile Product Development Process](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/68-model-based-systems-engineering-in-an-agile-product-development-process) - [Rethinking Intelligence: AI, Accessibility, and the Future of Inclusive Work - Artur Ortega](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1377-rethinking-intelligence-ai-accessibility-and-the-future-of-inclusive-work-artur-ortega) - [What makes Cybersecurity different for critical infrastructure?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/571-what-makes-cybersecurity-different-for-critical-infrastructure) - [How To Test A Ball of Mud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/173-how-to-test-a-ball-of-mud) - [How to TDD in legacy code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/309-how-to-tdd-in-legacy-code) - [Breaking the Hardware Mindset: Overcoming Barriers to System-Level Innovation](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1635-breaking-the-hardware-mindset-overcoming-barriers-to-system-level-innovation) ## Related Articles - [Software Engineer Career: Things You Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/143-software-engineer-career-things-you-should-know) - [The Ultimate Software Engineer Career Path Guide for 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/146-the-ultimate-software-engineer-career-path-guide-for-2023) - [IT Salaries in Austria](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/286-it-salaries-in-austria) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [What Jobs Can You Get with a Software Engineering Degree?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/398-what-jobs-can-you-get-with-a-software-engineering-degree)
