## About the Role

* Strong Mainframe COBOL development skills.
 * Hands-on experience with JCL.
 * Experience working with VSAM files and data structures.
 * Strong knowledge of DB2 databases and SQL.
 * Experience with CICS and online transaction processing.
 * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
 * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

 * Experience developing and supporting applications in a mainframe environment.
 * Experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
 * Experience with application maintenance, enhancements, debugging, testing, and production support.
 * Experience working in a structured software development environment.

Education:

 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
 * Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

## Description

* Develop, enhance, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL.
 * Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
 * Develop and modify batch and online programs in a mainframe environment.
 * Create, maintain, and troubleshoot JCL for application processing and job scheduling.
 * Work with VSAM and DB2 databases, including data access, updates, and troubleshooting.
 * Develop and support CICS transactions and online processing.
 * Perform unit testing, debugging, and production support activities.
 * Analyze application issues and identify root causes and corrective solutions.
 * Collaborate with business analysts, developers, testers, and other technical teams to deliver quality solutions.
 * Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to application changes and processes.
