Write high-quality, maintainable code in Golang, Rust, or Java that meets Amazon's engineering standards. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions for traffic management and connectivity. Design and build networking features (load balancing, routing, throttling, authentication) used by thousands of Amazon services. Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing. Identify and drive process improvements that increase team efficiency and system reliability. Participate in on-call rotation to resolve production issues and proactively mitigate operational risks. A day in the life - Ship code for high-impact Service Mesh features used across Amazon - Debug complex connectivity and dependency issues alongside partner teams - Review designs and guide Away-Team engineers on best practices - Advise stakeholders on technical trade-offs and effort estimates - Triage and resolve production issues during on-call rotation About the team You'll be joining the Big Mesh team, the team that owns services and connectivity solutions for Amazon's internal services. As part of this team, you'll be responsible for the ensuring we continue to develop better connectivity solutions for our Amazon teams and simplify/remove the hurdles the builders face as they navigate the complex networking architecture at Amazon.
