About the team The Content Understanding and Derivatives team delivers AI-powered content analysis that drives customer engagement and monetization across Prime Video's global catalog. Our systems generate derivative assets and metadata at scale, enabling personalization, advertising, and playback experiences that increase viewing time and revenue. We operate within PV CPL (L10) and CLUE (L8), delivering impact through three strategic capabilities: Content Understanding & Search creates the foundational data layer (MediaCoRE) and search infrastructure (MCX) that powers critical downstream applications including Metronome, Ad placements, and Trust and Safety operations. Content Derivatives generates customer-facing assets-clips and artwork-that increase content discovery and engagement across all territories. Content Metadata produces enriched metadata (Genre, Mood, Ad cue points, Binge watch timecodes) that enables PV Personalization, Ads, and Playback teams to optimize display and viewing experiences. Our AI systems operate at catalog scale across all territories, providing the intelligence layer that connects content to customers and drives key business metrics. ## Related Videos - [Evolving the developer experience in the age of AI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100201-evolving-the-developer-experience-in-the-age-of-ai) - [PySpark - Combining Machine Learning & Big Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/44-pyspark-combining-machine-learning-big-data) - [A Data Mesh needs Open Metadata](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/505-a-data-mesh-needs-open-metadata) - [Why Your AI Agent Keeps Hallucinating Your Data: Building Deterministic Context Layers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2055-why-your-ai-agent-keeps-hallucinating-your-data-building-deterministic-context-layers) - [Parquet, Delta, Iceberg & Ducklake - An introduction for developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100075-parquet-delta-iceberg-ducklake-an-introduction-for-developers) - [ Your Code Is the Sales Team Now](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100327-your-code-is-the-sales-team-now) ## Related Articles - [Everything a Developer Needs to Know About MCP with Neo4j](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/604-everything-a-developer-needs-to-know-about-mcp-with-neo4j) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [From Prototype to Production: Build AI Agents with This Free 4-Course Learning Path](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/655-from-prototype-to-production-build-ai-agents-with-this-free-4-course-learning-path) - [From developer to manager – what does it take to become an engineering manager?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/42-from-developer-to-manager-what-does-it-take-to-become-an-engineering-manager) - [Should Tech Managers Be Developers First?
