There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year. ## Description We are seeking a highly experienced engineer to define and drive the architecture strategy for compliant computation and storage across the Search platform. This leader will shape the long-term technical vision for how Bing processes, stores, governs, and protects data while enabling innovation, AI-powered experiences, and global scale. The role sits at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, data governance, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will partner across Search, AI, Cloud Infrastructure, Security, Privacy, and Legal organizations to build architectures that ensure compliance requirements are embedded into the platform by design rather than treated as downstream controls. As a senior technical leader, you will drive strategic platform investments to power high-scale search traffic and growth, establish architectural standards for compliant data handling, and drive adoption of next-generation storage and computation frameworks that balance performance, cost, resilience, and regulatory obligations.
