The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across the Android stack, including AOSP, Android Framework, system_server, native C++, Kotlin, Java, middleware, and vendor layers. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex Android platform stability issues, reverse-engineering problems from AOSP source code, and providing technical direction for difficult or ambiguous issues. Must-Have Skills * 3+ years of hands-on Android Platform/Framework development * Strong Kotlin, C++, and Java experience * Hands-on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) development and source-code debugging * Strong experience with Android Framework / system_server * Experience with: * Activity Manager * Window Manager * Package Manager * SurfaceFlinger * Experience developing Android middleware and background/foreground services * Strong knowledge of AIDL / Binder IPC * Experience troubleshooting: * ANR / Application Not Responding * Boot failures * Black-screen issues * Android platform stability problems * Experience working across framework, native, and vendor layers * Experience with HAL / Hardware Abstraction Layer * Ability to modify and debug native Android components using C++ * Experience resolving Android upgrade/integration issues Preferred Skills * Android Automotive OS (AAOS) * Car Service / CarService * CTS, VTS, ATS, and STS * Android graphics/display stack * GDB / LLDB * Perfetto / Systrace * Logcat analysis * Android Soong / Make build systems * Android partition architecture * Experience working with SoC/silicon vendors * Automotive or embedded Android experience, Required: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Master's Degree Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidates will be deep Android platform engineers, not application-level Android developers. Look for candidates with hands-on AOSP + system_server + C++ native components + Kotlin/Java framework development, particularly those who have debugged Android platform stability issues and worked below the Treble boundary.
