This role involves applying engineering principles and industry best practices to minimize operational risks, improve system availability, and ensure compliance with safety standards., * Analyze system requirements and develop an RM&SH engineering program plan to achieve RM&SH objectives. * Allocate and predict failure rates (Mean Time Between Failure) for components and systems and measure against program requirements. * Develop Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) to represent the relationship between components of a system and asses overall system reliability. * Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate risk of system failure and support proposed changes in design. * Assess Fault Detection and Fault Isolation metrics for Availability impacts and concerns. * Actively participate on design teams, provide guidance and recommendations to designers and management to ensure safety and reliability objectives are met. * Supervise testing and demonstrations at supplier, plant, or field locations to evaluate reliability factors, such as numbers and causes of unit failures or maintainability risks. * Conduct closed-loop Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to establish root cause, failure trends, and opportunities to improve system reliability and safety. * Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company safety policies. * Engage directly with RM&SH Engineering capability to ensure compliance with BDS RM&SH requirements for people, processes, and tools. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
