Advanced proficiency with Layer 2/3 concepts, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLAN architecture, QoS, and network segmentation. Demonstrated experience engineering solutions using major networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Brocade, etc.). Strong understanding of network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zero-trust concepts. Experience supporting DoW networks and working within classified or mission-critical environments. DoD 8570 IAT Level II. Active TS/SCI. Preferred Requirements Experience architecting or supporting DAF networks, tactical communications systems, or distributed operational units. Expertise with RMF processes, STIG implementation, and cybersecurity audit readiness. Experience with network automation tools, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code. Familiarity with virtualization, cloud networking, or hybrid-cloud integration. Proficiency with enterprise monitoring and analysis tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, etc.). Vendor professional certifications such as CCNP/CCDP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent. Experience with VoIP/Unified Communications, radio-over-IP, or integration of tactical radios with IP networks. Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and collaborate in joint or multi-agency environments. DoD 8570 IAT Level III or IASAE II/III. ## Description Lead the design, engineering, implementation, and optimization of secure network architectures supporting mission-critical Department of the Air Force (DAF) systems and operations. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for routing, switching, enclave design, and network security technologies. Plan, execute, and oversee complex network modernization efforts, technology refreshes, and integration of new capabilities. Conduct advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning across multi-site and tactical networks. Develop and enforce network standards, configuration baselines, and change-control procedures. Engineer and implement cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoW/DAF policies, RMF, and STIG requirements. Support accreditation and compliance documentation, risk assessments, and POA&M resolution efforts. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; provide technical leadership during planning, installation, and sustainment activities.
