## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
 * Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required., * Strong communications skills and ability to independently manage workload schedules.
 * Relevant year/s of GIS or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
 * Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal and/or other relevant ArcGIS software and an understanding of the ESRI suite of products.
 * AutoCAD experience.
 * Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design.

## Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist I for employment. The appropriately qualified applicant will use Esri's ArcGIS suite of products on a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects.

This position is expected to begin ASAP.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

 * Independently executes and delivers GIS projects varying from basic to moderate to significant scopes and complexity.
 * Develop databases and various mapping outputs to support reports and other project deliverables.
 * Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
 * Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
 * Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients.
 * Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.
 * Work directly with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers.
 * Assist field teams with field mapping preparation, field data collection/data extraction and other related activities.
