This may include, but is not limited to museum studies, history, anthropology, literary studies, geographic information systems, digital exhibits or archives, or web development., * Demonstrated ability to learn and work with new software tools and platforms, as evidenced by application materials. * Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as evidenced by application materials. * Professional experience in the application of digital methods to humanities research, as evidenced by application materials., During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments). ## Description 100% - Research Assistance * Assist with research. * Learn to work with digital tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, ESRI ArcGIS, and Omeka. * With supervisor, give presentation on this work at the end of the semester., The IDRH Scholars will contribute to digital humanities research projects led by faculty at the University of Kansas. This assignment presents KU students with an opportunity to learn collaborative research skills, and to gain a better understanding of technical and ethical issues related to working with digital methods to address humanities research questions. This opportunity is for the Fall 2026 semester, with the possibility of renewal in the Spring 2027 semester and is open to KU undergraduate students. Work Schedule Expectations The student will work approximately 5 hours per week for the Fall 2026 semester. A regular work schedule will be determined at the beginning of the semester. The work will include regular check-ins with the supervisor for updates and guidance, as well as for mentorship and learning. The student may occasionally attend team meetings with other members of the IDRH team.
