## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
 * 7+ years of IT infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
 * Extensive experience supporting RHEL 8 environments.
 * DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (Security+).
 * Experience with Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite.
 * Experience with Linux administration and scripting technologies.
 * Experience supporting enterprise or hybrid cloud environments.
 * Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
 * Experience with Microsoft Azure environments.
 * Strong troubleshooting and systems engineering experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Linux certification such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Linux+.
 * Experience supporting RHEL 6 and RHEL 7 environments.
 * Experience working in secure or classified environments.
 * Experience with Scaled Agile methodologies.

## Description

Apex Systems is currently hiring a Systems Engineer MID - RHEL with a large federal client. As a Systems Engineer, you will support enterprise infrastructure modernization efforts by administering, automating, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments that support mission-critical applications and hybrid cloud operations across a large-scale Department of Defense network.

Project Details / Mission Supported:

 * Administer and support enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
 * Implement and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting tools.
 * Support hybrid cloud and virtualization platforms.
 * Manage system lifecycle activities including deployment, maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
 * Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and support operational readiness.
 * Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability, performance, and availability.
 * Support enterprise platform modernization initiatives and operational sustainment efforts.
 * Provide technical expertise across geographically dispersed enterprise environments.
