Desired Skills * Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or mission-critical operational systems. * Experience with aircraft maintenance, logistics, sustainment, or ground support systems. * Expertise in Qt-based application development and UI modernization initiatives. * Knowledge of human factors engineering, usability testing, and UI/UX design methodologies. * Experience with software cybersecurity requirements and secure coding practices. * Familiarity with RMF, STIG compliance, and secure software development within DoD environments. * Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, or other enterprise container platforms. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevSecOps toolchains. * Strong understanding of database design, performance optimization, and enterprise data management. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Proven ability to influence technical direction, drive consensus, and lead cross-functional engineering teams. * Experience modernizing legacy applications into web-based and containerized solutions. * Experience designing and developing responsive web applications utilizing modern UI frameworks and web technologies. * Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. * Experience implementing zero-trust architectures, cloud security controls, and container security best practices within regulated or DoD environments. * Experience supporting cloud technologies within RMF-accredited and cybersecurity-compliant environments. ## Description * Lead software development activities and serve as the primary technical decision-maker. * Define and maintain architecture, design patterns, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies. * Conduct trade studies and design reviews to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with program goals. * Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes. * Experience leading software architecture and development for high-availability, safety-critical systems, preferably aerospace or defense Software Development & System Integration * Provide hands-on leadership for design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of complex software systems. * Oversee integration across software, hardware interfaces, databases, and external systems. * Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of performance, reliability, and maintainability issues. * Support deployment, configuration management, and software lifecycle sustainment. UI/UX Design & Human Factors * Guide development of intuitive, user-centered interfaces for maintenance operations. * Apply UI/UX, usability, and human-centered design principles to improve operator effectiveness. * Collaborate with end users, stakeholders, and system engineers to refine workflows and ensure consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness. Agile Leadership & Engineering Excellence * Lead Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies and partner with the IMIS Portfolio Integrator and Release Train Engineer on planning, refinement, estimation, and releases. * Champion DevSecOps, continuous integration, automated testing, and continuous delivery. * Establish metrics and processes that improve software quality, development velocity, and predictability. * Expertise in Agile methodologies, Scrum/Kanban, and large-scale release coordination.
