As the role grows, we also want the IT tester to contribute to the company's IT strategy, driving through policy and processes to help build the IT testing team. Your Key Areas of Focus Creation of test plans to ensure delivered IT services are of sufficient quality, incorporating the following aspects: Functional requirements (does it meet the required business function) Performance requirements (is it fast enough and caters for the required volumes of transactions and concurrent users) UI standards (does it break any of the HCI rules) Security requirements (is data stored and transmitted securely? It is bullet-proof against attacks such as SQL injection?. Will it pass pen-test?) Operational requirements (what monitoring is in place to ensure it is running successfully?) Reporting requirements (what information should it pass through into the central reporting database?) Gatekeeper of developer submissions - review of developer unit test plans and rejection of submitted changes if test plans are missing, inadequate or contain insufficient proof of tests passing.
