When you're asked for a feature, you recognize when it's the first of many and build the pattern the next engineer can extend, rather than another one-off. * Technical judgment: Ability to evaluate tradeoffs, make sound engineering decisions, and communicate the reasoning behind them. * Collaboration: A history of working effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners and contributing to the growth of those around you. * Curiosity: An eagerness to learn unfamiliar technologies and solve new problems. You do not need prior experience with Elixir or every technology in our stack. Our tech stack * Backend: Elixir and PostgreSQL running on AWS. Our platform is event-driven, built on EventBridge, SQS, and Oban to power everything from real-time scheduling to marketing automation. Prior Elixir experience is not required-we'll teach you. * API: GraphQL, with TypeScript types generated from the schema across our frontends. * Frontend: React and TypeScript across our business dashboard, client booking experience, and independently shipped micro-frontends, with a shared component library. Our mobile app for professionals is built with React Native. * Tooling: Infrastructure as code with Terraform, continuous deployment, Datadog for observability, Snowflake for analytics, and AI coding agents like Claude Code in daily use. You don't need experience with all of this to apply. Curiosity and strong fundamentals matter more to us than any specific tool. How we'll take care of you ## Description We believe engineers who master AI tools will define the next decade of software, and we want Boulevard to be where you do that. Coding agents like Claude Code are in daily use across our team, and we expect you to use them to move faster on the routine work so your energy goes to design, quality, and the problems that actually require you. What stays constant is ownership: you're accountable for what ships, however it was written. What you'll do here: * Own meaningful product and technical initiatives from design and scoping through implementation, launch, and iteration. * Build reliable, maintainable systems that power experiences including real-time scheduling, client booking, marketing automation, and the tools professionals use to run their businesses. * Partner closely with Product and Design to understand customer problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop thoughtful technical solutions. * Contribute to technical design and architecture in your area while balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and delivery speed. * Build across our platform based on your area of expertise, whether that's React and TypeScript on the frontend, backend services and event-driven systems, or end-to-end product development. * Own the quality of what you ship through testing, code review, observability, and ongoing production support. * Collaborate with and mentor other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing. * Continuously improve how we build and ship software, including thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools. ## Related Videos - [Build and Deploy a Fullstack App with Open Source Tooling](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/775-build-and-deploy-a-fullstack-app-with-open-source-tooling) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Bringing digital education to refugee and host communities in remote regions of Africa](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/644-bringing-digital-education-to-refugee-and-host-communities-in-remote-regions-of-africa) - [Putting the Graph In GraphQL With The Neo4j GraphQL Library](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/257-putting-the-graph-in-graphql-with-the-neo4j-graphql-library) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
