## About the Role

Must-Have:

 * Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
 * 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with direct client-facing experience required.
 * Strong programming skills in Java and Node.js.
 * Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
 * Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL/Storage, or similar).
 * Experience with RESTful API design and development.
 * Experience with Git and other version control systems.
 * Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
 * Excellent client management, communication, and teamwork skills - comfortable presenting technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
 * Understanding of modern DevOps principles.

Nice-to-Have:

 * Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
 * Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
 * Familiarity with messaging/event systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus).

## Description

* Design, develop, and test backend applications and services using Java, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
 * Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure.
 * Partner directly with clients to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and communicate progress and tradeoffs clearly.
 * Work with other engineers to design and implement software architecture, including APIs and microservices.
 * Write unit tests and follow test-driven development practices.
 * Translate business requirements into technical specifications alongside product managers and stakeholders.
 * Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
 * Debug and troubleshoot software issues across the stack, including in live client environments.
 * Manage client expectations and priorities on multiple concurrent projects.
