The current codebase is approximately 80% Scala. You will build new backend services in a functional style using technologies including Cats and Cats-Effect, with correctness, performance and maintainability considered from the very beginning. You will work on security-sensitive software involving cryptographic operations and the reliable processing of sensitive data. Furthermore, you will build APIs and gRPC integrations, design data models and work with PostgreSQL in an environment where software must be demonstrably correct, testable and auditable. The technical culture is strong, but not dogmatic. Scala and functional programming are used where they add value. Java, Kotlin, other JVM technologies and AI tools can also be used when they are better suited to the problem. Because the team is small, you will not work on one anonymous component of a much larger system. You will gain insight into the entire platform, learn directly from strong senior engineers and have genuine influence on technical decisions and improvements.
