The role covers the full breadth of 3D gameplay work - animation, characters, cameras, world interaction, and UI - and owns the practical side of getting art content into the game, working closely with 3D artists, technical artists, and animators to keep the pipeline running reliably in production. The Senior Gameplay Programmer will also implement the game's systemic features and AI behaviour, translate narrative and design intent into working gameplay, and build editor tooling that removes friction for the wider team. The role collaborates closely with design, narrative, and art to keep the game performant and stable throughout development. ## Related Videos - [Dizzy users close browsers: balancing creativity and accessibility](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/803-dizzy-users-close-browsers-balancing-creativity-and-accessibility) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE - "Fun and games - and all that comes with it", Back to BASIC & more](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1719-wearedevelopers-live-fun-and-games-and-all-that-comes-with-it-back-to-basic-more) - [What’s New and What’s Next in Web UI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/956-what-s-new-and-what-s-next-in-web-ui) - [Designing the Future of Human<>Agent Collaboration](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1447-designing-the-future-of-human-agent-collaboration) - [A Lifetime in Games: The Past, Present and Future of the Industry](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/202-a-lifetime-in-games-the-past-present-and-future-of-the-industry) ## Related Articles - [What Developers Can Learn from Indie Games](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/650-what-developers-can-learn-from-indie-games) - [John Romero - What AI Can, Can’t, and Shouldn’t do for Games](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/478-john-romero-what-ai-can-can-t-and-shouldn-t-do-for-games) - [Dev Digest 135 - AI is Doomed](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/480-dev-digest-135-ai-is-doomed) - [10 Coding Games to Teach You How to Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/151-10-coding-games-to-teach-you-how-to-code) - [WWC24 Talk - Brenda Romero - Stay: Surviving and Thriving in Tech](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/467-wwc24-talk-brenda-romero-stay-surviving-and-thriving-in-tech) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline)
