Successful candidates are likely to have experience within one or more of the J2, J3, J4, J5 or J6 domains and understand the realities of Defence operations, planning, intelligence, support or command-and-control environments. Whilst Architecture experience is important, we are equally interested in individuals who can bridge the gap between operational users, senior decision-makers and technology delivery teams. We are looking for individuals who: * Bring credibility with Defence stakeholders, based on a practical understanding of Defence operations and the challenges faced by military organisations, plus how operational, information and technology ecosystems interact. * Are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from front-line users and subject matter experts through to senior military officers and executive decision-makers. * Can rapidly assimilate complex information, identify patterns and relationships, and apply lessons learnt from previous programmes, systems and operational environments. * Possess strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, enabling them to challenge assumptions and develop evidence-based recommendations. * Are capable of operating in ambiguous environments where requirements are still emerging and the pathway to delivery is not always clear. * Demonstrate creativity and innovation when solving complex Defence challenges. Understand the opportunities and limitations of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, data analytics and automation. * Can effectively leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, analysis, modelling and documentation activities. Have sufficient domain knowledge and professional judgement to validate, challenge and refine outputs generated by AI and other decision-support technologies., * Education: Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering and/or equivalent Industry experience. * Experience: Experience in systems/enterprise architecture within defence, aerospace, or national security sectors. C4ISR domain desirable. * Technical knowledge: Wide but not deep across software, Infrastructure and Networks, with the ability communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and highly technical SMEs alike. Solid grounding in modern software development process (DevSecOps). * Strong understanding of information-driven decision-making within Defence environments. * Ability to develop operational, business, information and enterprise architecture products.
