## About the Role

* Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.

 * At least 4 years of relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of this position.

 * Experience reviewing and triaging cybersecurity alerts.

 * Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack techniques, and security controls.

 * Experience working with incident or ticket management systems.

 * Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

 * CompTIA Security+ certification.

 * Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.

Preferred Qualifications

 * Federal SOC experience.

 * Experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, or related security technologies.

 * Familiarity with incident response frameworks and procedures.

Physical Requirements

 * Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.

 * Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.

 * Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.

## Description

* Serve as an initial point of intake for cybersecurity events, requests, and potential incidents.

 * Monitor and triage security alerts and incoming cybersecurity reports.

 * Validate, categorize, prioritize, and route incidents to appropriate teams.

 * Perform preliminary investigation and evidence collection.

 * Document incidents, investigative steps, and escalation decisions.

 * Apply established standard operating procedures and incident response playbooks.

 * Coordinate with users, system administrators, and security personnel to gather relevant information.

 * Identify high-risk activity requiring immediate escalation.

 * Support SOC reporting and operational metrics.

 * Mentor junior analysts on Tier 1 processes and procedures.
