We are looking for a hands-on Commerce Architect to design and oversee our highly scalable e-commerce infrastructure on AWS. You will bridge the gap between complex business requirements (merchandising, checkout, inventory) and cloud-native technical solutions. You will own the architectural roadmap for our commerce platform, ensuring high availability, security (PCI-DSS), and performance during peak traffic events., + Architectural Strategy: Design and maintain a cloud-native architecture using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EKS, CloudFront) to support high-volume transaction processing. + Commerce Integration: Lead the architectural design for integrating our commerce engine with third-party systems, including ERPs, PIMs, OMS (Order Management), and Payment Gateways (Stripe/Adyen/PayPal). + Performance & Scalability: Architect solutions for "bursty" traffic (e.g., product drops, holiday sales), utilizing auto-scaling, caching strategies (Redis/ElastiCache), and CDNs. + Security & Compliance: Ensure all architecture complies with PCI-DSS standards, GDPR/CCPA, and general security best practices for handling sensitive customer financial data. + Modernization: Drive the migration from monolithic architecture to a Headless/Composable Commerce approach (Microservices/API-first). + Cost Optimization: Manage AWS budgets and implement FinOps best practices to optimize cloud spend. ## Related Videos - [Leveraging Real time data in FSIs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/806-leveraging-real-time-data-in-fsis) - [Blueprints for Success: Steering a Global Data & AI Architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1577-blueprints-for-success-steering-a-global-data-ai-architecture) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [3x Performance: A Humbling Journey](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100165-3x-performance-a-humbling-journey) - [Modern Headless Commerce with Vendure](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/489-modern-headless-commerce-with-vendure) - [Accelerating Authentication Architecture: Taking Passwordless to the Next Level](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/733-accelerating-authentication-architecture-taking-passwordless-to-the-next-level) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [The Biggest German Tech Companies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/424-the-biggest-german-tech-companies) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers)
