## About the Role

To accomplish this, you will be expected to have an established background in building highly scalable systems and system design, excellent people and program management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about connecting customer problems through underlying scalable software that raises the bar on customer and operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, will be very applicable and helpful., * 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

 * 5+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
 * 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
 * 3+ years of engineering team management experience
 * Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
 * Experience partnering with product or program management teams, * Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
 * Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
 * Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
 * Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

 * Collaborate with Product to renew and communicate a bold vision via roadmaps
 * Clearly communicate roadmaps with your team, management, and principal stakeholders
 * Work with peer managers to determine scope and estimate development effort
 * Lead systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions
 * Influence and adopt industry standards
 * Argue for the right outcomes with data, conviction, and diplomacy

This is a high visibility, high growth role with direct reporting relationship to a Level7 and frequent Level8/Level10 reviews.
