Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Manager I, Engineering - AI Developer Products - **Company:** Datadog - **Location:** Paris, France - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Artificial Intelligence, Programming Tools, TypeScript, Datadog, ReactJS - **Published:** August 25, 2026 - **Apply:** https://careers.datadoghq.com/detail/8156460/?gh_jid=8156460 ## About the Role * You’re actively shipping code with AI agents in production * You thrive in early-stage environments where the roadmap shifts and the right answer isn't known yet. * You have a genuine point of view on AI coding tools - where they help today, where they fall short, and what it would take to close the gap. * You have strong technical depth in full-stack development (TypeScript/React and systems-level work) and stay close enough to the code to earn the trust of senior engineers * You've built developer-facing products or tooling where speed, reliability, and developer experience were hard requirements ## Description Everyone is building agent orchestrators; we think the harder problem is verification - knowing whether what an agent produced actually works, against real systems, before it ships. We’ve spent a decade collecting the production truth that makes that answerable, and we're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team turning it into a developer tool. You'll own the surfaces where developers work with coding agents day to day. This is early-stage product work with the distribution, data, and engineering depth of an established company behind it, and your first users will be Datadog's own engineers, giving you feedback loops measured in hours. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You’ll Do: (Describe role responsibilities here/max 6 bullets) * Lead and grow a team of engineers building AI-powered developer tools, owning hiring, ramp-up, and career development * Own the technical direction for the product we’re shipping, partnering closely with staff-level engineers on architecture decisions. * Drive down developer cycle time while raising the bar on correctness - making AI-assisted development both faster and more trustworthy * Partner with Product and Design to shape the roadmap for an early-stage product, translating ambiguous problems into shippable scope * Establish the execution rhythm for your team: planning, delivery, quality, and operational ownership of the services you build ## Related Videos - [Developer Experience in the Age of AI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1118-developer-experience-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Do TypeScript without TypeScript](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/327-do-typescript-without-typescript) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Debugging in the Dark](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1658-debugging-in-the-dark) - [Engineering Productivity: Cutting Through the AI Noise](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1691-engineering-productivity-cutting-through-the-ai-noise) - [Vuejs and TypeScript- Working Together like Peanut Butter and Jelly](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/127-vuejs-and-typescript-working-together-like-peanut-butter-and-jelly) ## Related Articles - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix) - [Dev Digest 159: AI Pipelines, 10x Faster TypeScript, How to Interview](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/563-dev-digest-159-ai-pipelines-10x-faster-typescript-how-to-interview)
