This is a rare chance to join a fast-growing fintech startup where your work directly protects the systems our users depend on., Core, non-negotiable * DevOps/SRE depth and a genuine backend engineering background. You've written and shipped real software, not only infrastructure code. We don't need you to build customer-facing features, but we need you to think like a software engineer when you design platform, tooling, and systems. * Strong hands-on AWS, plus production experience with observability/monitoring (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or similar), CI/CD, compute, and networking. * Experience managing Kubernetes clusters in multiple environments. * Experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling. * Experience at an early-stage startup where you built DevOps/infra from scratch, or at a company going through a growth stage where you had to scale it under real pressure. * Real willingness to own compliance work (SOC 2/PCI-DSS), not just support it. Strongly preferred * Experience with AI/LLM tooling, MCP, model gateways, or internal developer platforms for AI. * Prior SOC 2 and/or PCI-DSS experience, ideally with a specific control or finding you helped remediate. * Exposure to security engineering. * Experience with AWS CDK (especially TypeScript). * Experience reducing vendor lock-in or migrating between data stores at scale (for example, NoSQL to relational). ## Description The Platform team owns the infrastructure Credit Genie runs on: the AWS environment, deployments, observability, and the SOC 2 and PCI-DSS controls that keep customer financial data safe. We're also building the AI infrastructure our engineers use every day. When this team does its job well, engineers ship without worrying about what's underneath them and audits find real controls instead of gaps., * Own reliability, deployments, observability, and incident response across our AWS environment (Kubernetes/EKS, Datadog, CI/CD, networking), supporting backend, mobile, data, ML, and AI engineering teams. * Maintain, optimize, and improve our AWS infrastructure footprint to align with industry best standards and scalability requirements. * Own our infrastructure-as-code stack (Terraform/OpenTofu). Hands-on AWS CDK experience is a strong plus. * Reduce our dependence on any single vendor by favoring open standards and swappable tooling where it makes sense. Compliance * Take real, hands-on ownership of SOC 2 and PCI-DSS work. Not just documenting controls, but building and operating the systems that make them genuinely true in production. * Partner directly with our security function to close real gaps as they surface, including network segmentation and traffic inspection. CI/CD and deployments * Make deploys and rollbacks easier, more predictable, and more consistent across the org. * Consolidate and speed up CI/CD pipelines that currently span multiple tools and are evolving to support services in TypeScript/Node, Python, and Kotlin as our engineering team's specialized use cases grow. AI infrastructure and product builds * Build and extend our internal AI infrastructure: the gateway/middleware layer, MCP integrations, the knowledge graph, and tooling that makes AI use across engineering cheaper, faster, and more accurate. * Stand up greenfield infrastructure for new products, without inheriting our existing tech debt or migration constraints. Across all of it * Share a real on-call rotation and absorb interrupt-driven support in a way that protects everyone's ability to also do focused project work. * Help us get more efficient and cost-effective as we scale, from investigation through implementation., We believe working alongside each other in person is the best way to build a great product and foster a strong company culture. Our expectation is that employees are in the office five days a week, allowing for optimal collaboration, inclusivity, and productivity. At the same time, we understand that life happens and recognize the importance of flexibility. We are committed to supporting our employees when circumstances arise that require remote work or adjusted schedules. Our goal is to ensure everyone can effectively balance personal and professional responsibilities while maintaining our collaborative and productive environment. ## Related Videos - [Leveraging Real time data in FSIs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/806-leveraging-real-time-data-in-fsis) - [Kotlin Multiplatform - True power of native code reuse](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/4-kotlin-multiplatform-true-power-of-native-code-reuse) - [From DevOps to Scaled DevOps: How We’re Rebuilding Continuous Delivery as a Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100018-from-devops-to-scaled-devops-how-we-re-rebuilding-continuous-delivery-as-a-platform) - [Shipping Faster with Less: Render on Cloud Hosting, AI Workloads, and the Future of DevOps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1894-shipping-faster-with-less-render-on-cloud-hosting-ai-workloads-and-the-future-of-devops) - [NoSQL Data Modeling for Front-end Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/297-nosql-data-modeling-for-front-end-developers) - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again)
