The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division manages the core technology infrastructure needed to support the CalSTRS business. This infrastructure includes client technology; network, servers, and storage infrastructure; and technology disaster recovery. The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division also provides technology related operational support for CalSTRS and is comprised of the following teams: Client Technology Infrastructure, Audiovisual Services, Client Technology Services, Technology Disaster Recovery, Network Infrastructure, Service Desk and System & Security Administration. Under general direction of the Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations, the IT Infrastructure Services Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring that the business technology systems are operational and available for conducting CalSTRS business. The incumbent plans, organizes and directs CalSTRS's IT Infrastructure Services section to ensure enterprise IT systems are reliable, secure and aligned with business objectives. The incumbent provides leadership over infrastructure planning, infrastructure architecture, system engineering, server administration, and operational support. The incumbent directs the development and execution of IT infrastructure strategies, makes high level decisions and is results oriented, plays a major role in formulating IT strategy and policy, and administers the most complex IT projects., Interested individuals must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in addition to the standard state application (form STD 678). Your SOQ should not exceed two pages, single-spaced, 12-point font and address the following questions: * Describe your experience as a senior leader managing an implementation vendor through a large-scale cloud migration project. * Describe your experience managing a corporate data center including how you ensured availability, security, scalability, agility and operational stability. * Describe your experience as a senior leader communicating and presenting complex issues related to enterprise-wide infrastructure systems and strategies to a wide range of audiences. Exam CalSTRS Personal Trading Program Investment Branch employees are required to participate in the CalSTRS Personal Trading Program which allows CalSTRS to monitor employees' personal trading transactions in order to reduce risks associated with insider trading, front running, and misusing material non-public information. Upon accepting a position within the Investment Branch, you will be required to disclose your personal broker account information and be required to utilize a personal broker from a designated list as provided by CalSTRS. Background Investigation Prior to employment with CalSTRS, a background investigation (BI) will be conducted. The BI consists of a Personal History Statement and fingerprinting through the Department of Justice. The BI will check criminal and civil records and, if applicable, verify education and check driving records. CalSTRS Disclosure Requirements This position may be subject to disclosure and disqualification requirements concerning economic conflict of interest in government work, including the Conflict of Interest Code that applies to CalSTRS team members and the Political Reform Act, which require disclosure of certain investment information and use of a designated trading platform for securities transactions, as well as filing a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700).
