## About the Role

* Bachelors Degree
 * A minimum of 5 and ideally 7-10+ years Java development & backend engineering experience
 * Ecommerce experience is a HUGE plus
 * You must be an expert in Java and also have experience with at least 1 additional backend and frontend language
 * Experience improving legacy codebases
 * Automated testing experience
 * Microservices architecture knowledge and expertise
 * CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes & AWS experience
 * Excellent communication - this company is all about collaboration

## Description

The suitable Senior Backend Engineer - Java will have the following responsibilities:

 * Be the internal Backend architecture expert, driving standards.
 * Improve the quality of internal software by reshaping legacy areas.
 * Own reliability and performance by identifying bugs & issues and improving the company UX with attainable outcomes
 * Mentor junior engineers, leading by example and sharing best practice.
 * Work with a variety of teams across the organization, mainly product & design to ensure requirements are clear and executed successfully
 * Be a great communicator and collaborator, working with team members on code reviews and shared problem solving. This role will be across multiple time zones and it's a remote position, so being a clear and concise communicator is an absolute must!
