At the center of it all is the merchant: every system we build, every API we ship, connects internal teams and external clients around getting merchants onboarded smoothly. As a Software Engineer, you own live, public-facing APIs built to handle real scale, take on well-defined but moderately complex problems, work largely independently within the team, and own your piece of the boarding pipeline end-to-end., * Build, test, and operate services within the Boarding platform, following the "you build it, you run it" mindset * Work largely independently on team-scoped tasks, seeking guidance from senior teammates and your manager on ambiguous or cross-team topics * Adapt quickly when priorities shift, re-plan your own work, communicate impact, and keep delivery moving without needing to be told twice * Take ownership of your commitments: proactively surface risks/blockers, follow through to completion, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not just output * Write testable, decoupled, readable code; write tests across the pyramid (unit * integration); use our observability stack to understand and improve the services you own * Participate in incident response for your team's services, using runbooks and systematic debugging; contribute to blameless postmortems * Collaborate closely with peers, other Boarding squads, and stakeholder teams (Compliance, Product, Risk); share knowledge and give/receive feedback openly * Bring energy and curiosity to the team, someone others enjoy pairing with and are inspired by ## Related Videos - [Migrating half a million users to a new payment service provider](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/730-migrating-half-a-million-users-to-a-new-payment-service-provider) - [Debugging in the Dark](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1658-debugging-in-the-dark) - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) - [Next Level Enterprise Architecture: Modular, Flexible, Scalable, Multichannel and AI-Ready?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1017-next-level-enterprise-architecture-modular-flexible-scalable-multichannel-and-ai-ready) - [Software Engineering Social Connection: Yubo’s lean approach to scaling an 80M-user infrastructure](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1583-software-engineering-social-connection-yubo-s-lean-approach-to-scaling-an-80m-user-infrastructure) - [Implementing Feature Environments with AWS and Terraform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/531-implementing-feature-environments-with-aws-and-terraform) ## Related Articles - [The Biggest German Tech Companies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/424-the-biggest-german-tech-companies) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers)
