The Engineering Associate will support engineering project managers by performing technical assignments that develop professional knowledge and engineering skills. The position involves applying standard engineering techniques and procedures while working on a variety of design and construction projects for municipal, infrastructure, and multi-discipline projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering planning, design coordination, field inspections, and project management while working alongside experienced engineering professionals., Engineering & Technical Development * Learn and apply sound engineering practices and professional standards to daily work assignments. * Utilize computers, engineering software, handbooks, and emerging technologies to support engineering tasks. * Perform basic engineering calculations, develop reports, and assist with coordination between multiple technical disciplines. * Conduct work in an organized, accurate, and productive manner while maintaining attention to detail. * Assist with preliminary design efforts, project planning, and engineering analyses related to design and construction projects. * Support the preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, material estimates, engineering reports, and studies. * Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to support project execution. Field Work, Site Assessments, and Communication * Attend construction meetings, perform site visits, document meeting discussions and action items, and assist senior staff in resolving field-related issues affecting quality and project delivery. * Assist senior engineers with field observations, documentation, and reporting. * Assist project management staff in identifying and documenting non-conforming work and deviations from approved construction documents. * Facilitate communication among inspectors, contractors, designers, clients, and project management personnel regarding construction progress, quality issues, and documentation requirements.
